Abstract

Humans are living beings with a series of interconnected bodily systems that work together; heart and blood health, which is tied to the circulatory system, affects overall body health. This condition is accompanied by an increasingly instant lifestyle, while consistent and periodic health checks show a declining trend. To address this issue, this study aims to design a device capable of performing non-invasive heart rate and blood glucose monitoring based on the ESP32. The research methods employed include system design, sensor calibration, and prototype testing. The results of this study have successfully produced a practical heart rate and blood glucose reader prototype. The device has 2 reading modes, random blood glucose (RBS) and post prandial blood glucose. The input components consist of a MAX30102 sensor and 2 push buttons, while the output components consist of a 16x2 I2C LCD and a micro SD card. The conclusions of this study indicate that this prototype is capable of reading blood glucose and heart rate in comparison with conventional measuring instruments. In RBS mode, the average heart rate reading error was (2.18%, accuracy 97.82%) and blood glucose error was (1.36%, accuracy 98.64%). Meanwhile, in the post prandial mode, the average heart rate reading error was (1.06%, accuracy 98.94%) and blood glucose error was (2.58%, accuracy 97.42%).
