Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CONFLICT MANAGEMENT ABILITY AND
RETENTION WITH WILLINGNESS TO SACRIFICE AMONG PRIVATE
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN TAMBUN UTARA DISTRICT,
BEKASI REGENCY

This study aims to: (1) analyze whether there is a relationship between teachers’ conflict management ability and willingness to sacrifice, (2) analyze whether there is a relationship between retention and teachers’ willingness to sacrifice, and (3) analyze whether there is a relationship between conflict management ability and retention together with willingness to sacrifice among private elementary school teachers in Tambun Utara District, Bekasi Regency.
The method used is quantitative correlational with a total of 213 private elementary school teacher respondents in Tambun Utara District, Bekasi Regency, selected through proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is a validated Likert scale questionnaire.
The results of the study show that: (1) there is a significant positive relationship between Conflict Management Ability and Willingness to Sacrifice with a value of r = 0.993, a contribution of determination of 98.6%, and the regression equation Ŷ = -16.129 + 1.121X₁ (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). (2) There is no significant relationship between Retention and Willingness to Sacrifice with a value of r = -0.078, a contribution of determination of 0.6%, and the regression equation Ŷ = 148.272 + (-0.074)X₂ (p-value = 0.260 > 0.05). (3) Together, Conflict Management Ability and Retention have a significant positive relationship with Willingness to Sacrifice with a value of R = 0.993, R² = 98.7%, and the regression equation Ŷ = -18.587 + 1.122X₁ + 0.014X₂. The calculated F value is 7777.643 with a p-value = 0.000 < 0.05.
Based on these results, this research is expected to be input for schools, principals, and teachers in designing development programs that focus on strengthening conflict management ability and building affective attachment, in order to foster teachers’ willingness to sacrifice that arises from awareness and sincerity in private elementary schools.
