Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) the relationship between Self-Regulated Learning and Academic Resilience, (2) the relationship between Students’ Perceptions of Islamic School Culture and Academic Resilience, and (3) the simultaneous relationship between Self-Regulated Learning and Students’ Perceptions of Islamic School Culture with the Academic Resilience of Madrasah Aliyah students in West Bekasi District, Bekasi City. This research was motivated by the importance of academic resilience in enabling students to cope with academic challenges, learning difficulties, and educational pressures effectively. Self-Regulated Learning and positive perceptions of Islamic school culture are considered important factors that contribute to strengthening students’ academic resilience.
This study employed a quantitative correlational research design. The population consisted of Madrasah Aliyah students in West Bekasi District, Bekasi City, with a sample of 212 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, Pearson Product Moment correlation, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression using SPSS software.
The findings revealed that Self-Regulated Learning had a positive and significant relationship with Academic Resilience (r = 0.741; R² = 54.9%). Students’ Perceptions of Islamic School Culture also showed a positive and significant relationship with Academic Resilience (r = 0.633; R² = 40.1%). Simultaneously, Self-Regulated Learning and Students’ Perceptions of Islamic School Culture demonstrated a positive and significant relationship with Academic Resilience (R = 0.972; R² = 94.5%; F = 1782.256; p < 0.05).
It can be concluded that Self-Regulated Learning and Students’ Perceptions of Islamic School Culture are important factors associated with Academic Resilience. Therefore, schools should strengthen independent learning programs and continuously foster Islamic school culture to enhance students’ academic resilience.
