Abstract
This research is motivated by the importance of instilling the value of religious moderation in a school environment with diverse religions, ethnicities, and cultures. Religious moderation is necessary to foster an attitude of tolerance, justice, balance, and respect for differences, thereby creating harmonious relationships among students. This study aims to analyze the instillation of the value of religious moderation in strengthening brotherhood among students at SMP Negeri 40, Bekasi City, determine its implementation, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors.
This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of the vice principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, Civics teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The research results show that the instillation of religious moderation values is carried out through school policies, habituation activities, and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Civics (PPKn) learning. Its implementation is evident through religious activities, the provision of worship facilities, arts performances, social programs, and school activities that involve all students regardless of religion. Its success is supported by school commitment, teacher role models, parental support, and a conducive environment. Inhibiting factors include the influence of social media, uncontrolled gadget use, and differences in students' family backgrounds and social environments. This research indicates that instilling religious moderation values contributes to strengthening brotherhood among students and fostering tolerant and respectful character traits.
