Abstract

A vise is an important tool in machining processes that serves to clamp workpieces to keep them stable during processing, such as drilling, filing, or welding. However, the manual vise that is widely used today still requires considerable energy and time in its operation. Therefore, in this study, an innovation was designed in the form of an automatic work system vise with a wiper motor drive, which is expected to provide convenience, efficiency, and comfort for operators. The research method includes the design stage, component selection, assembly process, and tool performance testing. The test results show that the electric vise is able to produce stable clamping force with low power consumption, and is faster in the clamping process than a manual vise. Thus, this tool can be an effective alternative solution to increase productivity in workshops and small industries.
