Abstract

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the relationship between students’ achievement in
Qur'anic studies and their Arabic language proficiency with the development of
religious character among senior high school students in Medan Satria District,
Bekasi City. The background of this research stems from the increasing cases of
juvenile delinquency and moral decline among adolescents, which highlight the
urgent need for character education, particularly religious character. Qur'anic
education and Arabic language mastery are considered vital foundations in
understanding and practicing Islamic teachings. This research employed a
quantitative correlational method, with data collected through questionnaires and
documentation involving Grade XI students from several faith-based high schools.
The findings revealed a significant relationship between Qur'anic learning
outcomes and Arabic language skills—both individually and collectively—with
students' religious character. These results indicate that the better students perform
in Qur'anic studies and Arabic, the stronger their religious character becomes. This
study provides important implications for the development of curricula based on
religious values and the reinforcement of teachers' roles in instilling spiritual
values in students.
