IMPROVE THE INSIGHT OF ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE AT SMP IT AR- RIDWAN
AND SMP ISLAM REJIS. Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Islamic Religion,

YellowIslamic classic book (kitab kuning) study is a classical learning system
that uses books as a medium of learning. Generally, the study of the yellow book is
held only in non-formal Islamic educational institutions. However, with the passage of
time, the study of the yellow book began to penetrate into formal religious-based
schools. The purpose of this research is to find out the yellowIslamic classic book
learning system in the IT Ar-Ridwan Junior High School and the Rejis Islamic Junior
High School, besides that, to find out what are the differences in improving the
knowledge of the past between the IT Ar-Ridwan Junior High School and the Rejis
Islamic Junior High School.
The approach in this research uses qualitative research. This research was
conducted at Ar-ridwan IT Junior High School and Rejis Islamic Junior High School
on june 4 – july 9, 2024 using descriptive qualitative research methods. The techniques
used in data collection are observation, interviews and documentation. The data
analysis technique used is through three stages, namely data reduction, data
presentation, and conclusion drawing.
Based on the findings and data analysis that the author did, it can be concluded
as follows: 1.) Ar-Ridwan IT Junior High School and Rejis Islamic Junior High School
have the same education system, namely Islamic education which uses the yellow book
as the teaching medium. 2.) Ar-Ridwan IT Junior High School focuses more on
deepening the yellowIslamic classic book while Rejis Islamic Junior High School
focuses on the yellowIslamic classic book and tahfidzul Qur'an. 3.) Ar-Ridwan IT
Junior High School provides a boarding school program that focuses on deepening
Islamic understanding through the study of the yellowclassical books, on the other
hand, Rejis Islamic Junior High School creates a special program that focuses on
deepening Islamic understanding by studying the yellowclassical books which
resembles boarding school activities in general
