Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of job insecurity and meaningful work on work
engagement among employees at PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLi).
A quantitative approach was applied to 289 employees using the Job Insecurity
Scale, Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI), and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale
(UWES). Data were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation and simple linear
regression. The results show that job insecurity has no significant relationship with
work engagement (r = -0.001; p = 0.985) and no significant effect based on
regression analysis (β = -0.021; p = 0.461; R² = 0.2%). Meanwhile, meaningful
work has a positive and significant relationship with work engagement (r = 0.274;
p = 0.000) and contributes 4.0% to work engagement (β = 0.328; p = 0.001). These
findings indicate that meaningful work is an important factor in enhancing
employee work engagement
