Lukman Hakim, 2026. The Relationship between Qur’an Reading Ability and Self Control with Students’ Religious Character at Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs) throughout Bekasi Regency. Thesis. This study aims to examine the relationship between Qur’an reading ability (X₁) and self control (X₂) with the religious character (Y) of students at Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs) throughout Bekasi Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population was all MTs students in Bekasi Regency, with a sample of 395 students determined using the Slovin formula at a 5% margin of error. Data on Qur’an reading ability were collected through a 50-item objective test, while data on self control and religious character were collected through questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The results show that: (1) there is no significant relationship between Qur’an reading ability and religious character (r = -0.001; Sig. = 0.985 > 0.05); (2) there is no significant relationship between self control and religious character (t = 1.757; Sig. = 0.080 > 0.05); and (3) there is no significant relationship between Qur’an reading ability and self control jointly with religious character (F = 1.554; Sig. = 0.213 > 0.05; R² = 0.008). Therefore, the religious character of MTs students in Bekasi Regency is more influenced by other factors beyond these two variables.
