HUBUNGAN KEMAMPUAN ADAPTASI LINGKUNGAN DAN SENSE OF
BELONGING DENGAN COMPLIANCE GURU SEKOLAH DASAR SWASTA SE-
KECAMATAN TAMBUN UTARA

This study aims to: (1) analyze whether there is a relationship between teachers’ environmental adaptability and teacher compliance, (2) analyze whether there is a relationship between teachers’ sense of belonging and teacher compliance, and (3) analyze whether there is a relationship between environmental adaptability and sense of belonging together with teacher compliance at Private Elementary Schools throughout Tambun Utara District. The method used is quantitative correlational with 213 teachers of Private Elementary Schools throughout Tambun Utara District as respondents, selected through random sampling. The instrument used is a validated Likert-scale questionnaire, and data were processed using SPSS. The results show that: (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between Environmental Adaptability and Teacher Compliance with a value of R = 0.337, a determination contribution of 11.4%, and the regression equation Y = 85.925 + 0.389X₁ (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). (2) There is a positive and significant relationship between Sense of Belonging and Teacher Compliance with a value of R = 0.444, a determination contribution of 19.7%, and the regression equation Y = 77.135 + 0.442X₂ (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05). (3) Together, Environmental Adaptability and Sense of Belonging have a positive and significant relationship with Teacher Compliance with a value of R = 0.572, R² = 32.8%, and the regression equation Y = 15.059 + 0.417X₁ + 0.460X₂. The calculated F value is 51.148 with a p-value = 0.000 < 0.05. This determination coefficient of 32.8% is considered reasonable in organizational behavior research, which is inherently multicausal in nature; environmental adaptability and sense of belonging proved to be significant predictors even though they are not the only factors shaping teacher compliance, while the remaining 67.2% of the variance is explained by other factors outside the model, such as work motivation, principal leadership, organizational climate, and the compensation system. Based on these results, this research is expected to serve as input for schools, principals, and teachers in designing human resource development programs that integrate the strengthening of environmental adaptability and sense of belonging in order to foster professional, responsible, and compliant teachers in private elementary schools.
