Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between emotional exhaustion and social support with job satisfaction among private elementary school teachers in South Tambun District. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design involving 261 private elementary school teachers in South Tambun District selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Teachers' Emotional Exhaustion Scale (TEES) developed by Martínez-Líbano to measure emotional exhaustion, a Social Support Scale based on House's theory, and the Teacher Job Satisfaction Scale (TJSS) developed by Pepe et al. to measure job satisfaction. The research hypotheses were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test and multiple linear regression analysis. The results revealed a significant negative relationship between emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction (r = -0.491; p < 0.05), a significant positive relationship between social support and job satisfaction (r = 0.533; p < 0.05), and a significant simultaneous effect of emotional exhaustion and social support on job satisfaction (F = 74.375; p < 0.05; R² = 0.366).
