Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Teacher Competence and the Use of Instructional Media with Student Learning Achievement at State Senior High Schools in the Tambun Selatan Sub-district, Bekasi. The study was motivated by the still low learning achievement of students in PAI subjects, as well as the not-yet-optimal competence of teachers and utilization of instructional media in schools.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational technique. The research population consisted of all eleventh-grade students at State Senior High Schools in Tambun Selatan Sub-district, totaling 1,774 students, with a sample of 326 students. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Form, and analyzed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 27.0.1.
The results show that: (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between PAI Teacher Competence and Student Learning Achievement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.801 (very strong category) and a contribution of 64.2%; (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between the Use of Instructional Media and Student Learning Achievement, with a correlation coefficient of 0.511 (moderate category) and a contribution of 26.1%; (3) jointly, PAI Teacher Competence and the Use of Instructional Media have a positive and significant relationship with Student Learning Achievement, with a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.825 and a contribution of 68.1%, while the remaining 31.9% is influenced by other variables outside this study.
This study implies the need for continuous improvement of PAI teacher competence, as well as the optimization of varied instructional media use, in order to encourage better student learning achievement.
