Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of implementing meaningful and in-depth learning in Islamic Religious Education. The implementation of deep learning is considered a relevant approach to improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education, as it emphasizes deep understanding, active student engagement, and the integration of spiritual and social values into the learning process.
This study aims: (1) to identify and analyze the planning of learning through the implementation of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education at SD Negeri Margahayu VII, Bekasi City; (2) to identify and analyze the implementation of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education at SD Negeri Margahayu VII, Bekasi City; and (3) to identify and analyze the impact of deep learning implementation on students' learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education at SD Negeri Margahayu VII, Bekasi City.
This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was examined through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation.
The results of this study indicate that: (1) the implementation of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education begins with teachers developing teaching modules that include stimulating questions, learning objectives, and time allocation; (2) the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning applies three pillars of deep learning, namely connecting (mindful learning), experiencing (joyful learning and meaningful learning), and making meaning (meaningful learning and mindful learning); and (3) the implementation of deep learning has a positive impact on students and contributes positively to the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education learning at SD Negeri Margahayu VII, Bekasi City.
