Abstract
This study aims to describe the principal's strategy in improving teachers' personality competence through the Islamic Personal Development Program (Bina Pribadi Islami) at SMAIT Bunyan Indonesia, Bekasi Regency. Personality competence is an important aspect in shaping teachers' character as a moral role model for students and in creating a conducive learning climate.
This study employs a qualitative approach, specifically a purely qualitative (naturalistic) research design. The qualitative approach was used to gain an in-depth understanding of phenomena occurring naturally in the field. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation.
The results of the study show that the principal's strategy in improving teachers' personality competence through the Islamic Personal Development Program at SMAIT Bunyan Indonesia was carried out through the stages of planning and needs mapping, implementation of weekly and monthly coaching programs, as well as assessment through supervision and mutabaah evaluation. Its implementation involved the distribution of tasks to various parties, the application of routine habituation, and the provision of rewards and punishments as a form of reinforcement. Nevertheless, the implementation of the program still faces obstacles, particularly related to time constraints and the low awareness of some teachers in applying the coaching materials, which are being addressed through a personal approach, more consistent scheduling, and variation in coaching methods.
In general, it can be concluded that the principal of SMAIT Bunyan Indonesia has implemented a planned, collaborative, and sustainable leadership strategy in improving teachers' personality competence through the Islamic Personal Development Program.
