This study aims to determine the effect of the Yanbu'a method on students' ability to read and write the Qur'an at MTs Attaqwa Putra. The study was motivated by the fact that many students still experience difficulties in reading and writing the Qur'an in accordance with the rules of tajwid and makharijul huruf (proper articulation of Arabic letters). Therefore, an effective learning method is needed to improve these skills, one of which is the Yanbu'a method.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 25 students in the experimental class and 15 students in the control class. Data were collected through observation and performance tests assessing students' ability to read and write the Qur'an, covering both reading and writing aspects.
The results showed that the mean post-test score of the experimental class was 66.00, while that of the control class was 54.17, resulting in a mean difference of 11.83 points. The Independent Samples t-test yielded a significance value (Sig. (2-tailed)) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Yanbu'a method has a significant effect on improving students' ability to read and write the Qur'an at MTs Attaqwa Putra.
