This study aims to examine the implementation of the modeling method used by teachers to instill moral values at the Putri Kembar Babelan Islamic Kindergarten in Bekasi Regency. Additionally, the study seeks to understand the perspectives of children and parents regarding the examples set by teachers and to assess the impact of these examples on the students’ moral development. Early childhood is a critical stage for character formation; during this period, children tend to learn by observing and imitating the behavior of those around them. Consequently, teachers play a vital role as figures who provide positive examples through their words, attitudes, and religious practices—examples that children can subsequently apply in their daily lives. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to gain an in-depth understanding of how teachers implement the modeling method for moral education at the Putri Kembar Babelan Islamic Kindergarten. The collected data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, resulting in a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of the modeling method at the school.
Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that teachers have implemented the method of leading by example through their speech, behavior, and daily religious practices. This modeling is reflected in the fostering of discipline, responsibility, and good manners, as well as the application of Islamic moral values within the school environment. The implementation of this method has positively impacted students’ moral development, evidenced by improvements in discipline, a sense of responsibility, politeness, and the habit of behaving in accordance with Islamic teachings in daily life. However, the implementation still faces challenges, such as individual differences among students, a lack of optimal continuity in instilling these habits between the school and home environments, and the need for teachers to maintain consistency in setting a good example. Therefore, successfully developing children’s character requires effective collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents to ensure that the instilled values are consistently applied both at school and at home.
