To Strengthen Students’ Ability in Memorizing and Understanding the Meaning of Short Surahs at SDIT Utsman Bin Affan Bekasi (UM.ID). Islamic Religious Education Study Program. Universitas Muhammadiyah Indonesia Bekasi. 2026 M / 1488 H. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the tikrar method in strengthening students’ memorization and understanding of the meanings of short surahs at SDIT Utsman Bin Affan Bekasi. The ability to memorize short surahs is an important aspect that needs to be developed in Qur’anic learning. In addition to being able to remember the verses correctly, students are also expected to recognize and understand the meanings of the surahs they memorize. One of the efforts used to support this process is the tikrar method, which involves repeated and structured recitation to strengthen memorization. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of learning activities related to the memorization of short surahs. The collected data were then analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification to obtain a comprehensive description of the implementation of the tikrar method. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the tikrar method can help students maintain and improve the quality of their memorization of short surahs. The repetition process is carried out under the guidance of teachers, both collectively and individually, followed by the recitation of memorized verses to the teacher. Understanding the meanings of the surahs is also facilitated through simple explanations adapted to the viii students’ level of comprehension, enabling them not only to memorize the verses but also to begin understanding the messages contained within them. Several factors influence the effectiveness of the tikrar method, including students’ individual abilities, motivation to memorize, and support from the learning environment. Therefore, the tikrar method can be considered an effective approach to strengthening students’ memorization while simultaneously improving their understanding of the meanings of short surahs.
