Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural education as an
effort to strengthen religious moderation in Setia Mulya Village, Tarumajaya District,
Bekasi Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method.
Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The
informants consisted of religious leaders, village officials, community leaders, and
residents of Setia Mulya Village, selected based on their involvement in the village's
social and religious life. The data obtained were analyzed through the stages of data
reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
Research findings indicate that the implementation of multicultural education
in Setia Mulya Village has been successful, evidenced by the practice of values such
as tolerance, mutual respect, cooperation, and effective interfaith communication. The
strengthening of religious moderation is realized by granting followers of all faiths the
freedom to conduct their religious activities, the active role of religious leaders and
village officials in maintaining harmony, and community participation in fostering a
harmonious way of life. The study concludes that the implementation of multicultural
education plays a vital role in reinforcing religious moderation and preserving social
harmony amidst the religious diversity found in Setia Mulya Village.
