Abstract
SAYYID TAZKY AZIZ RAMADHAN: 41182911220077 “DEEP LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL IN ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR STRENGTHENING STUDENT CHARACTER AT SMAN 3 BEKASI CITY” Undergraduate Thesis, Bekasi: Department of Islamic Religious Education, Universitas Islam “45” Bekasi, 2026.
Issues in Islamic Religious Education learning are reflected in the suboptimal strengthening of student character, indicated by low levels of discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. The learning process, which is still dominated by lecture and memorization methods, results in limited student engagement, causing value comprehension to remain superficial. This condition leads to weak internalization of Islamic values in daily life. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of the deep learning instructional model. Previous studies show that a deep learning approach improves the quality of understanding, encourages active engagement, and develops character through reflection and meaningful learning experiences.
The results show that the implementation of the deep learning instructional model has a positive impact on strengthening student character, especially in aspects of discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. Learning activities such as discussions, problem analysis, and reflection foster students’ awareness in understanding and practicing the values they learn. The discussion shows that the teacher’s role as a facilitator, students’ readiness to participate, and a supportive classroom environment are important factors in the successful implementation of this model. The conclusion shows that the deep learning instructional model is effective in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning and strengthening student character through deeper and more meaningful learning processes.
