Abstract
This research is entitled The leadership of Village Heads in Physical Infrastructure
Development in Sukamekar Village, North Sukawangi, Bekasi Regency. This
research aims to determine the role of the village head in developing physical
infrastructure in Sukamekar Village, North Sukawangi, Bekasi Regency and what
obstacles they experience and also to find out what efforts have been made to
overcome these obstacles. The research method used is a qualitative method.
Analysis and data collection techniques are studied through literature study,
observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses Tohardi Theory
(2015:207) with 4 indicators, namely: Coordination, Decision Making,
Communication, and Attention to Subordinates. Based on the results of research on
the Role of the Village Head in Physical Infrastructure Development in Sukamekar
Village, North Tambun District, Bekasi Regency, overall the four indicators above.
The Role of the Village Head shows good or quite good results. However, there are
several obstacles faced, namely: (1) The lack of ability and insight of the village
apparatus is very minimal; (2) Lack of communication in development program
activities, and the leadership of the community also needs to be included; (3) Lack
of socialization carried out in the implementation of development to encourage the
community to participate. Apart from that, the efforts made are: (1) Coordinating
with the ranks of the apparatus to carry out training to increase knowledge and
insight in order to create sustainable development programs (2) Prepare and plan
proposed programs that are targets in village development activities; (3) Facilities
and infrastructure related to development are very important to be repaired for the
implementation of development.
