Abstract
ABSTRACT
Water resources infrastructure development, such as Groundsills, requires retaining wall structures that predominantly rely on steel reinforcement. On-site rebar management frequently encounters volume deviations and high material waste due to the imprecision of conventional spreadsheet-based Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) calculations, particularly in tapered geometric structures. This study aims to analyze the comparison of rebar volume and material waste between conventional calculation methods and Building Information Modeling (BIM) using Tekla Structures software, identify the technical factors causing these deviations, and calculate the resulting cost savings. This quantitative descriptive research employs a case study approach on the segment GS5 retaining wall structure in the Cipamingkis Groundsill Construction Project across a 10-meter span. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of 3D parametric modeling using BIM Tekla Structures is proven to be more efficient in estimating rebar volume requirements and reducing material waste percentages compared to conventional methods. The volume deviations are caused by the limitations of manual methods in accurately calculating inclined sections, the neglect of rebar elongation factors during bending, and the determination of development lengths (lap length and hook) that frequently exceed the SNI 2847:2019 standard reference. The optimization of cutting plans and the accuracy of BIM-based quantity takeoff provide significant material cost savings based on the Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) standards of Bogor Regency.
