Abstract
Charity box fund management is generally carried out manually, requiring considerable time and potentially causing recording errors. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things-based charity box monitoring system using an ESP32 microcontroller, an LM393 speed sensor, a TCS3200 color sensor, a 16×2 LCD, and a Telegram Bot. The LM393 sensor is used as an initial detector of banknote presence, while the TCS3200 color sensor is utilized to read RGB values as the basis for identifying the denominations of the 2022 series Indonesian Rupiah banknotes. The test results show that the LM393 sensor successfully detected banknotes with an accuracy of 100% and an error rate of 0%. Banknote denomination identification using the TCS3200 sensor achieved an accuracy of 96.67% for the Rp1,000 and Rp10,000 denominations, and 100% for the Rp2,000, Rp5,000, Rp20,000, Rp50,000, and Rp100,000 denominations. Telegram Bot testing demonstrated a 100% success rate in notification delivery and command response. Furthermore, overall system testing conducted in 30 trials achieved an accuracy of 100% with an error rate of 0%. The results indicate that the system is capable of performing banknote detection, denomination identification, balance calculation, information display on the LCD, and automatic real-time notification delivery through the Telegram Bot. Therefore, the proposed system was successfully implemented and can be utilized as a practical, accurate, and transparent solution for charity box monitoring and donation recording.
