Abstract
Ahmad Iqbal Subkhi, NPM 41182911220031, The Implementation of Islamic
Guidance in Fostering a Growth Mindset Among Students at MTsN 1 Bekasi City,
Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam, Fakultas Agama Islam, Universitas
Muhammadiyah Indonesia. 1448 H/2026 M.
This study aims to identify and describe the general implementation of guidance
services at MTsN 1 Kota Bekasi, analyze the implementation of Islamic guidance
in developing students' growth mindset, and describe the effectiveness of Islamic
guidance in fostering a growth mindset. This research was motivated by the fact
that some students still demonstrate a fixed mindset, characterized by low self�confidence, giving up easily, and believing that abilities are fixed and cannot be
developed. Therefore, Islamic guidance is considered an appropriate approach to
integrate Islamic spiritual values with the development of students' growth-oriented
thinking.
This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected
through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research participants
consisted of three guidance and counseling teachers, one Islamic Creed and
Morality teacher, and seven students of MTsN 1 Kota Bekasi selected purposively
based on their involvement in the implementation of Islamic guidance. Data were
analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data
reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, to obtain a comprehensive
understanding of the implementation of Islamic guidance in developing students'
growth mindset.
The findings reveal that Islamic guidance at MTsN 1 Kota Bekasi is implemented
through classroom guidance, individual counseling, group counseling, religious
habituation, Islamic advice, and collaboration among guidance counselors, subject
teachers, and homeroom teachers. These activities successfully foster students'
growth mindset, as reflected in increased self-confidence, responsibility, discipline,
perseverance, and willingness to face challenges and failures as valuable learning
experiences. The study concludes that Islamic guidance plays an effective role in
developing students' growth mindset through strengthening spiritual values,
character development, and continuous guidance, thereby contributing to the
advancement of Islamic guidance services in Islamic secondary schools
