Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of the Baaburrahmah Islamic Study
Group in fostering awareness of family education; describe the types of religious
guidance activities carried out by the Baaburrahmah Islamic Study Group in
support of family education; and understand the congregation’s experiences
regarding educational knowledge after participating in the study group’s activities.
This study employs a qualitative approach using field research. The research
location is the Baaburrahmah Islamic Study Group in the Griya Bekasi Permai
Housing Complex. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and
documentation with informants consisting of administrators, male and female
religious instructors, and members of the Islamic study group. Data analysis was
conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing
conclusions.
The research findings indicate that religious education at the
Baaburrahmah Majelis Taklim is conducted through regular study sessions that
cover topics such as creed, worship, ethics, the Qur’an, and family education. The
material is delivered through lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and the
provision of advice relevant to family life. The Majelis Taklim serves as a vehicle
for religious learning, a medium for raising parents’ awareness of the importance
of family education, a source of knowledge regarding Islamic parenting practices,
and a forum for strengthening social bonds among the congregation. Congregants’
participation in majelis taklim activities results in increased understanding,
awareness, and attitudinal changes regarding family education. Thus, majelis
taklim plays a significant role in fostering awareness of family education through
continuous religious guidance, which leads to improved understanding and the
application of family education values in daily life. This study contributes to
enriching the literature on family education awareness by affirming the role of
majelis taklim as an effective community development tool in raising congregants’
awareness of the importance of family education.
