Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of informal communication in shaping a collaborative culture among employees at the startup company KSP Consulting. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis employs the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that informal communication is the dominant form of communication used in daily work activities. Communication occurs in a relaxed and flexible manner, and informal communication takes place through direct conversations and digital media. The pattern of information dissemination reveals the presence of grapevine communication, which accelerates information transmission but has the potential to cause miscommunication due to differences in message interpretation. In addition to facilitating work coordination, informal communication also plays a role in fostering a collaborative culture through openness, trust, teamwork, and employee engagement. Thus, informal communication plays a role in supporting collaboration and work effectiveness at KSP Consulting.
