Abstract

Analysis of Picture and Picture (PNP) Learning
Model in Improving Beginning Reading Skills in Elementary Schools. Faculty of
Teacher Training and Education. Islamic University 45 Bekasi.
This study aims to analyze the application of the Picture and Picture learning model
to improve elementary school students' early reading skills. This study used a
Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 10 relevant national
journals obtained from the Google Scholar database based on predetermined
inclusion criteria. The data collection process involved identification, screening,
eligibility, and inclusion using the PRISMA guidelines.
The analysis results indicate that the Picture and Picture learning model is effective
in improving elementary school students' early reading skills. This improvement is
evident in students' ability to recognize letters, read syllables, and read words, as
well as improved student learning outcomes in each learning cycle. Furthermore,
the use of images in the Picture and Picture model makes students more active,
enthusiastic, and facilitates their understanding of the learning material. Of the 10
journals analyzed, the most frequently used research method was Classroom Action
Research (CAR), indicating that this model is effectively implemented through a
gradual process of action and evaluation.
Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Picture and Picture
learning model is effective in improving elementary school students' early reading
skills. This model can be an alternative for teachers in creating more engaging
learning and improving student learning outcomes.
