Abstract

Product distribution is a critical component of a company’s operational management because it affects the timeliness, quantity, and quality of products received by customers. PT Weebz Mandiri, as a distributor of industrial products, faces challenges in its distribution system, particularly regarding AMETEK analyzer units, which have unique characteristics and are not kept as spare inventory. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the product distribution system at PT Weebz Mandiri, identify the root causes of the problems encountered, and formulate improvement measures that can be implemented. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, employing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis covers the distribution process from inbound, quality control, storage, to delivery to customers, supported by the use of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Reorder Point (ROP) methods as analytical tools to evaluate inventory control policies. The research results indicate that PT Weebz Mandiri’s distribution system is operational, but its effectiveness is not yet fully optimized. Issues such as delivery delays, discrepancies between inventory data and the physical condition of goods, and the absence of a written ROP have been identified. Therefore, this study recommends improvements in inventory planning, the establishment of clear reorder points, and strengthened interdepartmental coordination so that the effectiveness of the distribution system can be enhanced on an ongoing basis.
