Abstract

The background of this research stems from the unrest surrounding societal
stereotypes, where individuals who are part of the underground music community
are naturally perceived as aggressive. In response to this perception, this study was
conducted to statistically examine the extent to which self-control and fanaticism
influence aggressiveness within the underground music community. This study
employs a quantitative correlational approach and involves 66 male respondents
who are members of the underground music community in Bekasi City. The
instruments used in this study consist of a self-control scale, a fanaticism scale, and
an aggressiveness scale. Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman
correlation test and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show a
significant and strong relationship between self-control and aggressiveness (r =
0.714; p < 0.001), as well as between fanaticism and aggressiveness (r = 0.411; p
< 0.001). Furthermore, the regression test indicates that self-control and
fanaticism simultaneously contribute dynamically to aggressiveness, with a
significance value of (F = 58.19; p < 0.005).
