This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education based on Islamic
values in an effort to improve the religious behavior of Karang Taruna youth RT01/04 Kampung
Rawa Panjang. Islamic-based character education is a strategic approach in forming individuals
with noble morals and high religious awareness. The research method used is qualitative with data
collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study
indicate that the implementation of character education is carried out through various religious
activities such as routine religious studies, holy book studies, and socio-religious activities
involving Karang Taruna youth. In addition, the habituation of Islamic attitudes in daily life is also
applied to strengthen the internalization of Islamic values. This implementation has succeeded in
increasing the awareness and religious behavior of youth, marked by increased participation in
religious activities and changes in attitudes that are more religious and socially responsible.
However, there are challenges such as limited facilities and lack of parental involvement which
are obstacles in the implementation of the program. This study recommends increasing support
from various parties so that character education based on Islamic values can be more optimal in
forming the character of religious and noble youth.
