Abstract

The quenching process on AC compressor shafts must be precisely controlled to prevent damage to the cutting tools during the drilling process. A common issue encountered is excessive quenching depth, which leads to chipping and increased production costs. This study aims to analyze the influence of spindle speed and feeding on surface hardness and quenching depth. The methodology involves comparing process parameters with actual test results using Rockwell hardness (HRB) standards and microscopic observation for depth measurement. The results show that surface hardness increases with higher spindle speed, while feeding has no significant effect. Conversely, quenching depth decreases with higher feeding and is not affected by changes in spindle speed. This study provides optimal parameter recommendations to improve product quality and production efficiency.
