THE PRINCIPAL'S STRATEGY IN IMPROVING TEACHER
PERFORMANCE THROUGH STRENGTHENING SOFT
SKILLS At PKBM MAQ Al USWAH EAST JAKARTA TIMUR

This research aims to find out the principal's strategy in improving teacher
performance through strengthening soft skills at PKBM MAQ Al Uswah Duren
Sawit school. The teacher's soft skills play an important role in improving the
quality of learning and the overall quality of education. This research uses a
qualitative approach with case study methods. Data is collected through in-depth
interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Research participants include
school principals, teachers, and students.
The results of the research show that the principal's strategy in improving teacher
performance through strengthening soft skills includes: Implementation of
sustainable professional development programs such as leadership learning for
managers and upgrading. The impact of this strategy is seen in improving teacher
communication skills, more effective classroom management, and increasing
teacher confidence in teaching. However, this study also found several obstacles in
the implementation of strategies, including budget and time constraints. The
implications of this research emphasize the importance of continuous investment in
the development of teacher soft skills as a key strategy to improve teacher
performance and education quality.
