Abstract
This research examines how much influence salt levels have on the voltage and
current produced by electrolyte cells using magnesium and zinc electrodes. This
research aims to find out how much influence salt content has on the voltage and
current produced by salt water with salt variations of 18 gr, 36 gr and 72 gr,
brackish water and sea water and also to find out the comparison of voltage and
current produced by Pakis beach sea water. Jaya and brackish water milkfish
cultivation ponds in the district. Karawang and salt water with salt variations of
18gr, 36gr and 72gr. In this research, magnesium electrodes were used as the
anode and magnesium as the cathode, with each electrode's cross-sectional area
being 10 cm². In this research, 4 cells were connected in series. In general, there
are four stages in this research, starting from the stages of conducting literature
studies, making experimental tools, data collection and data analysis. The salt
content greatly influences the voltage and current produced, apart from the salt
content the volume of water also influences the voltage and current produced.
Where in the salt water solution the highest voltage is obtained with a water
volume of 380 ml with a salt content of 100% in sea water. The highest voltage is
obtained with a water volume of 380 ml with a salt content of 37%. A salt water
solution with a voltage of 2.71 V and a current of 550mA is capable of turning on
LED lights for approximately 12 hours and a sea water solution with a voltage of
2.59 V and a current of 360mA is capable of turning on LED lights for 8 hours.
