Abstract
Fashion is a person's style of clothing that is used in everyday life or on special occasions to enhance one's appearance. One of the unique phenomena that attracts attention is the clothing style of students at Islamic University 45 Bekasi. Through fashion, it can reveal the hidden meanings behind every clothing choice chosen by its users. Therefore, this is a research subject that needs to be studied. The aim of this research is to describe how fashion plays a role as an artifactual communication medium in shaping the social identity of Islamic University 45 Bekasi students. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews and research documentation. The results of this research represent artifactual communication in the fashion of Islamic University 45 Bekasi students. The clothes they choose and wear by students not only function as body protection, but also as a medium for expressing themselves.
