Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) The implementation of the Manjau Maju tradition at weddings in the Lampung Saibatin community. (2) Know the values contained in the Manjau Maju tradition, such as cultural values and Islamic values. (3) Knowing how to preserve the Manjau Maju tradition in Sukawangi Village.

This research is qualitative research using a phenomenological approach, by collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The content analysis technique and Miles & Hubermen Model analysis were used as data analysis. This aims to maximize the results of the interviews so that the saturation point is found from the data obtained from the informants. Informants in this research include main informants (Traditional Leaders) and supporting informants (Culturists, Village Secretaries, General Public, Young People).

The research results show that: (1) There are several sequences in the implementation of the Manjau Maju tradition. (2) There are cultural values and Islamic values contained in the Manjau Maju tradition. (3) there are efforts made by the village government and cultural observers to preserve the Manjau Maju tradition.
