Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research is motivated by the low problem solving ability of students in the mathematics learning process, especially in the multiplication and division of story problems. This can be seen from students who have not been able to determine what is known and asked, still have difficulty determining the problem solving plan, students have not been able to carry out the planned problem solving plan, difficulty in interpreting the results obtained. This study aims to improve mathematics problem solving skills by using the problem solving model for grade II students at SDN TridayaSakti 04 tambun Selatan.
The research method used is PTK (Classroom Action Research) which consists of 2 cycles with a subject of 23 students and each cycle consists of 3 meetings. Each cycle has 4 stages, namely: Planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection using collection techniques in the form of written tests and observations. The success criteria in this study are 90% with a predetermined KKM value of 72.
Based on the research results from each cycle, the classical percentage increase in cycle I was 61% with an average value of 67, and for cycle II it was 91% with an average value of 90. The percentage increase in problem solving ability from cycle I to cycle II increased by 30% in mathematics class II SDN Tridayasakti 04.
