Abstract

ABSTRACT
The low student learning outcomes because students' interest in learning is still
lacking in science subjects is still considered a difficult subject by students. The
teacher has not tried a student-centered learning model so that students are more
active in participating in learning. So that the Learning Cycle 5E learning model can
be used as an alternative and solution in overcoming the low learning outcomes of
elementary school students. This study aims to examine the use of the 5E Learning
Cycle model to improve elementary school science learning outcomes. The research
method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) from 24 journals originating
from the Google Scholar database according to the inclusion criteria, namely,
variables X and Y (Learning Cycle 5E model and learning outcomes), science
subjects, elementary school students, journals research has been published in the last
9 years (2013-2021) and the data sources only come from scientific articles in
journals. The results and discussion of the application of the Learning Cycle 5E
model to the learning outcomes of elementary school students, in the upper and lower
classes there are similarities in the learning steps butfrom the results ofthe increase
in the high classthe average value is 8.41 and in the low classthe average value
increased by 7,324. From the results obtained, the highest improvement is the
application of the Learning Cycle 5E model in high grades, the Learning Cycle 5E
learning model. For further researchers, if they want to use the 5E Learning Cycle
model, it is recommended that it be applied to high grades. Assessment of learning
outcomes in high grades is seen from students working together in groups and written
tests with questions given by the teacher. So that the teacher can find out the extent
to which students understand the material. Because high grade students are easier
to follow the Learning Cycle 5e model where this model is student-centered and high
grade students are able to discuss well.
