Abstract

Background based on observations and reality conditions, the quality of social studies learning in schools is still far from the expected quality standards. Learning conditions in class tend to be less varied and students still experience difficulties in learning social studies subject matter. The facts show that some teachers in providing lesson material follow the old pattern of memorizing and practicing (drilling) answering exam questions.
Based on the limitations of the problem in this research, the aim of this research is to be more focused, because it is impossible for the author to examine all the problems that have been described due to limitations, the author feels it is necessary to limit the scope of this research, namely the author limits the increase in student learning outcomes in geography learning by utilizing audio-visual media. in social studies learning in class IX A of Mutiara Islami Plus Middle School.
The results of the research are based on the minimum completeness criteria that have been determined. In this table, 63.33% of students have achieved learning completeness with a score of ≥ 80, while 36.67% of students have not completed it because they got a score below 70. This percentage provides a clearer picture of how much students are able to achieve learning completeness in these criteria.
