Abstract

Clove oil is a type of organic material that has great potential to be used as a bioadditive for fuel oil because it is volatile, has low specific gravity and viscosity, and is composed of oxygenated hydrocarbon compounds. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of adding clove oil to pertalite fuel on torque. and power
on motorbikes, Knowing the fuel efficiency of adding clove oil to Pertalite fuel, Knowing the effect of adding clove oil to Pertalite fuel on exhaust emissions on motorbikes. Control tests are carried out to calculate torque, power, efficiency and exhaust emissions before receiving treatment. The highest hydrocarbon emissions
occurred with P100% fuel at 868 ppm and the lowest average hydrocarbon emission levels in the test with P95% + E5% was 217 ppm. The highest carbon monoxide emissions occurred with P85% + E15% fuel at 6.43% and the lowest average carbon monoxide emission levels in the test with P95% + E5% was 3.02%.
