Abstract
Education plays an important role in a person's life. Education problems are still often found in Bekasi Regency. To minimize this, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program was implemented through several institutions, including the Regional Development Planning Agency and the Bekasi District Education Office. This research aims to measure the extent of the implementation of the 4th Sustainable Development Goal as well as the Education Department's efforts in achieving the 4th SDGs, target 1, and teachers' perceptions of the efforts of the Bekasi District Education Department in improving quality education and learning opportunities in Bekasi District. The paradigm used is the constructivism paradigm with qualitative research methods accompanied by a case study approach. Data acquisition techniques include descriptive data observation, in-depth interviews, literature study, and documentation study, as well as informant selection techniques using purposive sampling and data analysis techniques in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, data verification, and coding. Based on research results, the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals 4, Target 1 in Bekasi Regency has been running effectively. Bekasi Regency in general has a promising trend in achieving the 4th SDGs target. The obstacles faced are a lack of understanding by regional officials about the SDGs, changes in implementers, the absence of regional officials in certain activities, and limited budget allocations. The Bekasi Regency Education Office is also trying to implement and achieve SDGs targets through various programs and activities carried out. This is reinforced by the indicator of school dropouts in Bekasi Regency which has a positive trend (down) as well as other supporting indicators. The efforts of the Education Department are also in line when compared with the statements of teachers in Bekasi Regency.
