Abstract
The development of steel construction has progressed very rapidly in
various innovations, realizing this by utilizing steel material there are several
advantages, one of which is saving time and budget costs, but there are still
limitations. In the analysis process with conventional methods such as slow
processing time and whereas with the Pre-Engineering Building (PEB) method,
namely the inability to be modified.
This study aims to compare the cost and time of implementation of the
conventional method of steel frame construction and the Pre-Engineering Building
(PEB) method using the calculation of the budget plan (RAB) and work volume as
the basis for the analysis of conventional methods applied to the design of frame
warehouses. steel at PT. Sun Bright Lestari in Indramayu found a total cost of IDR
24,641,119,247 with a planning duration of 90 days, while in the Pre-Engineering
Building (PEB) method the total cost only reached IDR 16,970,787,797 with a
planning duration of implementation for 59 days.
The results of the analysis show that there is a difference of 193 or the
equivalent of 37.13% between the planning results of the conventional method and
the PEB method. These findings indicate that the PEB method is capable of
providing significant efficiencies in terms of cost and time for steel frame
construction compared to the conventional approach. It is hoped that the results of
this study can serve as a guide for construction professionals in choosing a more
optimal method for implementing steel frame projects in the future.
