Abstract
This paper describes a design concept for a transmission holder and
an electric motor. The use of experimental research in this case includes
collecting data and literature, getting initial data about the minimum force
needed to rotate the transmission shaft, designing transmission stands,
making 3 phase electric motor installations and finally doing testing.
The specifications are the Toyota Kijang GL 40 transmission type
4 rear drive has a weight of 12.4 kg and must be able to maintain the
alignment of its axis to the electric motor shaft, so that the rotation of the
transmission input shaft can be rotated by the electric motor shaft through
the profeller without damage, for that it is done design of the transmission
holder and electric motor for later testing to obtain engine performance
and torque values where the test is carried out by a mechanic safely.
In testing the transmission assembly, so far an assessor rotates the
transmission input shaft manually by hand to test various speed variations.
This indicates that manual testing is far closer to reality or ideal in testing
techniques, plus the number of participants tested in each session is more
than one participant. The existence of a transmission testing machine is
clearly needed in order to create conditions that are closer to reality in
transmission maintenance and repair, especially in the transmission
assembly material so as to create evaluation procedural conditions that are
measured correctly, in the sense that it is clear if an error occurs.
