Abstract

Since ancient times, humans and water have been inseparable, as can be seen
from the many remains of ancient civilizations found on the banks of rivers. Water
greatly influences various aspects of human life, starting from the need for drinking
water, sanitation, health facilities, fisheries and maritime affairs, agricultural
irrigation, to the industrial world. So monitoring water quality is an unavoidable
necessity.
So far, most water quality monitoring has been done manually: someone visits
the location of the water, then takes a water sample, then takes it to the laboratory.
Or bring a measuring instrument and dip it in the water and then see the value. The
problem is sometimes the water that is measured is in a place that is far away or
difficult to reach. Another drawback is that measurement cannot be continuous, or
real-time. Measurement data is also only recorded manually.
Therefore, our team created a tool that is portable, user-friendly, simple,
affordable yet accurate in monitoring water conditions. This tool is equipped with
3 sensors so that users can adapt it to their needs. With this tool, everyone can
monitor water conditions through their smartphones without having to spend a lot
of time and money.
