Abstract

On the pipe The extinguisher in this fire extinguishing system functions as a place for fire extinguishing powder. Filling the powder in the fire extinguisher using air pressure up to 50 Kpa. With this pressure, welding quality is needed that is able to withstand leakage. There are several factors that affect the results of welding on fire extinguishers. One of them is by not using the correct SOP, resulting in incomplete weld results and welding defects that occur. Gas Welding Tungteng Arc Welding (GTAW) is a widely used method of welding stainless steel today. In the welding process there are several parts, namely: the heat-affected part or HAZ (Heat Affected Zone), the welding metal part (Weld Metal) and the line part (Fusion Line). Then this research was conducted in the form of an experiment on Stainless Steel 304 by using a current variation of 55A, 60A and 65A with the aim of knowing how much influence the current variation has on the results of the microstructure. The results of the microstructure testing that have been carried out show that there is an increase in the amount of cementite and pearlite elements in the specimens experiencing variations in current.
