Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship and influence of emotional
intelligence and organizational commitment on organizational citizenship behavior
among public junior high school teachers in Setu Subdistrict, Bekasi Regency. This
study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving 96
teachers selected using proportional stratified random sampling. Data were
collected using scales measuring organizational citizenship behavior, emotional
intelligence, and organizational commitment. The research instruments met the
criteria for content validity (Aiken’s V), construct validity, and Cronbach’s Alpha
reliability with coefficients of 0.885, 0.915, and 0.873, respectively. The data were
analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation and multiple linear regression. The
results indicate that emotional intelligence (r = 0.620; p = 0.000) and
organizational commitment (r = 0.216; p = 0.034) are positively and significantly
associated with organizational citizenship behavior. Simultaneously, both
variables also had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior (F =
42.512; p = 0.000), contributing 47.8% (R² = 0.478).
