Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between exposure to domestic violence, difficulties in emotion regulation, and dating violence. Dating violence is an issue influenced by various psychological factors that can be detrimental to both the individual and their partner. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consists of 375 active students from Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi, selected using a convenience sampling technique. The research instruments include the Revised Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS2),
the Adverse Childhood Experiences scale, and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS; Gratz & Roemer, 2004). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation and multiple linear regression. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between exposure to domestic violence and dating violence, as well as between difficulties in emotion regulation and dating violence. Furthermore, both variables simultaneously exert a significant influence on dating violence among young adults.
